CyberCX takes on four new apprentices

Press Release, Strategic Consulting

CyberCX have recently launched and taken on four new apprentices in the UK office.

The apprenticeship scheme aims to develop homegrown, world-class talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to create a more equal workforce in a bid to help tackle the current skills shortage that the cyber security industry is facing. As part of their overall expansion plan in the UK over the next 12 months, the CyberCX team hopes to create a new baseline of talent, attracting pro-active problem solvers who are looking for a new challenge.

The scheme proved incredibly popular with a significant number of applicants of which twelve were selected to attend a full assessment day at the CyberCX UK offices in August.

The candidates participated in ice breaker activities, a Q&A with Directors, lunch with the wider team, team based challenges and an interview.

The day was a great success and provided a positive experience of CyberCX and the cyber security industry.

The four successful applicants started with the team on Monday 5th September. They will get hands-on experience and mentorship with experts in their chosen field, as well as support with qualifications and accreditations along the way. The apprenticeship will run for two years with a very attractive starting salary to engage those who want to start a career in cybersecurity. After the two years the CyberCX team hopes to offer them a full-time role within the company.

The apprenticeship is in collaboration with Active Learning on the Oxford Campus, where they have recently developed a Cyber Security Level 4 Course.

“I applied for this apprenticeship to gain a chance at an exciting opportunity which ticked all the boxes for me. My interest in cyber has come from a long time learning about various sections of the IT industry. The main subject that appealed to me was the way businesses defend data, utilising various methods to keep a system secure. CyberCX has a feel of togetherness, along with hard working, expert individuals which will be interesting to learn from. I can’t wait to get stuck in and start working with the team, contributing, and adding to my knowledge of the job.”

Callum Mottram, Associate Security Consultant, CyberCX

“I applied for this apprenticeship scheme as cyber security is a growing sector with a lot of variety, and I feel I will enjoy vocational education as you get direct hands-on experience while learning. I was attracted to CyberCX as it seemed like a very progressive company that cared for its employees and everyone is very friendly and approachable.”

Ollie Durrant, Associate Consultant, CyberCX

“CyberCX is unlike many companies; it has a positive work environment that benefits its employees and clients. It goes above and beyond to make everyone welcome and part of the team. I’m looking forward to working alongside colleagues who are experts in their field and getting hands on experience.”

Philip D’Ancey, Associate Security Consultant, CyberCX

“CyberCX feels like a company that cares about the development of their employees which resonates heavily with me, as I am an individual who is all about building new knowledge and growing as a person. I am most looking forward to identifying which side of cyber security will suit me best, as this apprenticeship allows you to experience both GRC and STA which is very exciting. But overall, I am looking forward to the growth and knowledge that is going to come from this opportunity.
