CyberCX launches apprenticeship scheme to help tackle cyber skills shortage
With cyber threats constantly growing, the UK cybersecurity job market is very competitive and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find the right people due to a limited talent pool. That’s why global cyber security company, CyberCX are launching an apprenticeship scheme, led by UK CEO Charlie O’Connell.
The apprenticeship scheme aims to develop homegrown, world-class talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to create a more equal workforce in a bid to help tackle the current skills shortage that the cyber security industry is facing. As part of their overall expansion plan in the UK over the next 12 months, the CyberCX team hopes to create a new baseline of talent, attracting pro-active problem solvers who are looking for a new challenge.
The successful applicants will get hands-on experience and mentorship with experts in their chosen field, as well as support with qualifications and accreditations along the way. The apprenticeship will run for two years with a very attractive starting salary to engage those who want to start a career in cybersecurity. After the two years the CyberCX team hopes to offer them a full-time role within the company.
The apprenticeship is in collaboration with Active Learning on the Oxford Campus, where they have recently developed a Cyber Security Level 4 Course. The UK CyberCX team will be able to draw on the skills, capabilities and content from the CyberCX Academy, a global cyber security training academy recently launched in Australia.
“At CyberCX we strive to positively impact our communities and the apprenticeship scheme not only offers a unique opportunity for candidates but further compliments our ability to secure the future.”
“We’re looking forward to working with Active Learning to develop more pathways for diverse individuals looking to break into the cyber security space and hope to create more job opportunities in the future.”
